I came here with friends for brunch, and I appreciate that their menu caters to a variety of needs: I am gluten free and one of my friends is a vegetarian. True outdoor seating is still important to me, and Flores again is a reliable choice. I enjoyed the pozole on that chilly morning.
I am first generation Mexican-American whose family is from Jalisco. At first I looked at the place and thought it would be too Americanized, but I felt like I was just at a fancy restaurant in DF. The flavors of the mole, pozole, and carnitas was very close to what I'm used to tasting from my mother's cooking who learned all her skills growing up in Guadalajara. They say that Mexico has the best hospitality, we know how to provide service. My server was incredibly authentic, kind, and I felt like I was being taken care of. I cannot wait to take more friends here.
This is my second time at Flores and the food does not disappoint! I got the chicken tinga plate and it was perfect for a colder day. The broth the chicken is in is delicious and everything is so fresh. We ordered a couple of pitchers of margaritas (not pictured), but the quality of the margs even in a large serving like that, was great. 10/10!
We sat outside on the sidewalk and the restaurant wall was open to the interior space creating an indoor outdoor feel for those inside and connecting us outside to the inside. We were in a nice shady spot but in the middle of all the action watching people come and go- I liked the atmosphere. The guacamole and chips were amazing- huge portion of guacamole. Everything our group ordered was delicious. All the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection and the vegetables were delicious. The portions and ingredients were filling but light- I felt the perfect amount of satisfied without feeling like I ate too much. The service was fast and friendly keeping water glasses full. The food came out quickly despite how busy the restaurant was. I'd love to eat here again because everything looked amazing and everyone in our group loved what they got.
This is a great place to go to if you have a large group. There is SO much space - from the parklet to the cute front bar to the back area with plenty of tables. The food was delicious. We ordered the salad (which was big and filling), mole, pozole and tacos. Everything was flavorful. The drinks were okay. Nothing too outstanding but decent. Service was also decent. Like I said, it's a huge restaurant so it's hard to get their attention but they were very sweet.
We stopped in here one night for a work/team dinner. This place was packed to the brim with people so I am super glad we had a reservation in a great spot in the back. It was such a nice vibe with the decor and the windows that I was very happy. It felt like we were transported to a whole new place. Super cool. There were a bunch of us so we had a bunch of things but here's what I can remember. We started off with some drinks (when in Rome as they say), and some starters like the chips, guac, and salsa. It was and will always be the best starter for a dinner in my opinion. We added in some ceviche and queso. Not a big ceviche person but that queso was delicious. It was in a hot skillet and was perfect for the tortilla or chips to scoop. I also had a couple of carne asada tacos which were also very good. That's my go-to taco so I am glad they were good or that might've been a bummer. All in all, the food was absolutely delicious and I left with a good buzz from the drinks and a full stomach. Success! Our server was so quick and catered to everyone in our group so well. When it comes to award winning businesses, they know what they're doing, hence the Michelin award! This is a very cool spot, you'd be making the right decision to check it out.
Came here for a team dinner and it was great! We had a reservation in advance, thank goodness we did because the place was packed! Our server was nice and the ambiance was also good. Flores received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award so we had to check it out! What we ordered: Chips & guac & salsa 4/5 - Can't go wrong with a staple and is always great for sharing with the table Ceviche Mixto Campechano 5/5 - Absolutely love ceviche and this one was a delicious one! Platano Macho 3/5 - I'm not a huge plantain so this was a pass for me. Still give it a try though as you might like it yourself. Queso Fundido 5/5 - Melted cheese on a hot skillet. You can't go wrong with this as it's melty cheese that you eat with tortilla or chips! YUM Carne Asada Taco 5/5 - Big chunks of grilled steak wrapped in a warm tortilla. A must get Pescado Taco 5/5 - Love fried cod tacos. It was topped with some slaw and had the perfect crunch when combined in one bite. Food here was great. Drinks were STRONG and I could taste every bit of the alcohol. Service was prompt and good as well. Definitely a must try spot.
